Amber Keenoy consults for a nationwide client base on sustainable design and construction, greening operations and maintenance, and implementation of renewable energy solutions. Her background includes sixteen years of experience in Program Management, Quantity Surveying, Sustainability Consulting, Project Management, and Engineering. She is a LEED AP BD+C, a founding member of the USGBC California Central Coast Chapter and actively involved with USGBC National. She also is a Director of Sustainanble Practices for ANEW foundation, a non-profit dedicated to sero landfill use and social responsibility.
Amber has in depth knowledge and understanding of the inter-connection of the various sustainable fields of thought and specializes in making the connections of water, site, energy, built environment, ecology, land use, master planning and funding, return on investments, renewable energies; all sustainable strategies and related issues into one comprehensive idea – thus allowing owners/key stakeholders/ project teams the ability to plan strategies with the most cost effective and sustainable plans possible.
Amber has experience with all types of construction, with over 100 LEED® projects and more than 300 non LEED® projects under her belt. Projects have ranged from less than $1Million to over $3Billion. Programs she has managed have ranged from $3Billion to over $9Billion. As an eco-charrette maverick she has created and led more than 40 eco-charrettes. She began her career working on developing ranches, then office buildings and parking garages, then moved her way into FABs and labs, and from there spring boarded into all types of construction (residential, public works, commercial, tenant improvements, schools, colleges, universities, infrastructure and everything in between).
Amber has extensive experience in managing sustainability and energy related initiatives and policies. Major focal points throughout her career have included water efficiency, zero storm water runoff, energy efficiency, net zero energy usage, renewable technologies, innovative technologies and products, zero waste, cost analysis and program development. She is competent in Mandarin Chinese, a published author in a variety of in print and online magazines, a polished speaker, and an educator for various sustainability related classes. Her depth of experience makes all her talks inspiring.
