Carolyn Parrs is deeply passionate about harnessing the power of women to help create a positive, dramatic and measurable impact on the planet. This urge prompted her to create Women Of Green, a multi-media blog and community dedicated to inspiring and assisting women to be the change we need on the planet right now.

One way she does this is by helping women launch and grow green or socially focused businesses as a Marketing and Life Coach. “Business is one of the most powerful forces on the planet for change — and as more and more women launch and grow sustainable businesses, collectively we can make a BIG economic and social impact — fast. We’re the ones we’ve been waiting for,” she says.

As a 26-year old, Carolyn launched her first business, Poochi Canine Couture, Inc., a company that manufactured and designed fashion pet accessories and apparel. Poochi sold in over 1,000 department stores, pet stores and chains nationwide including Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, Harrod’s of London, Dayton-Hudson, the Spiegel Catalog, Target, Venture and Ames stores. After four years, Poochi was acquired by the Con Agra Corporation. She and her products have appeared on television shows such as Good Morning America, ABC News, CBS News and on numerous radio and cable shows such as HBO, CNN and Lifetime Channel. Print coverage includes The New York Times, L.A. Times, Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, People Magazine and Cosmopolitan.

Today, Carolyn is a Principal and Co-founder of Mind Over Markets, a dedicated green marketing communications company in Santa Fe, New Mexico. For over 10 years, she has helped businesses and organizations tap into the green revolution and excel. Her current clients range from clean tech to organics, personal care products to home décor, educational institutions to pet food, pallets and more. She is a featured author on Green Marketing in Thomson Reuters book series for C-level executives called Inside the Minds: Greening your Business

As part of her passion to help green companies grow, she co-authors the Green Marketing Blog, a definitive, thought-provoking and educational guide to marketing success in the green products world. Her podcast, America the Green, was one of the top eco-podcasts on iTunes.

She is a frequent keynote speaker and has presented at venues such as Green America’s Green Business Conference, University of Ottawa’s Sustainability Conference, the American Marketing Association, the American Management Association and the National Association of Women Business Owners. Her forthcoming book, Disruptive Buyology: How the Collective Power of Women Can Change the World will be available in 2012.

Carolyn lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico with her two children, and pets, Heart, Soul and Marbleeyes. Her joy fix is playing marimba.
